Rome Destroys Carthage

After the Third Punic War, Rome completely destroyed Carthage, sold its population into slavery, and salted the earth. The same year, Rome also destroyed Corinth in Greece.

These events marked Rome’s emergence as the unchallenged power of the Mediterranean world, setting the stage for Roman domination of Judea within a century.
