Absalom

Third son of David, famous for his beauty and long hair. Killed his half-brother Amnon for raping their sister Tamar. Later led a rebellion against David and briefly took Jerusalem. Killed by Joab while hanging from a tree by his hair. David’s lament—“O Absalom, my son, my son!”—is among scripture’s most poignant.
