Barnabas

Early Christian leader whose name means “son of encouragement.” Sold land and gave proceeds to the apostles. Vouched for Paul after his conversion. Partnered with Paul on the first missionary journey. Later split with Paul over John Mark. Tradition says he founded the Cypriot church.
