Fatimah bint Asad

Wife of Abu Talib and mother of Ali, who raised the orphaned Muhammad as her own son after his mother Aminah’s death and his adoption into Abu Talib’s household. One of the earliest converts to Islam from the Hashim clan. When she died, Muhammad honored her by giving her his own shirt for burial and personally entering her grave to pray—unusual honors signifying her status as a spiritual mother figure. She is revered in Islamic tradition for nurturing the Prophet during his formative years.
