Joseph of Arimathea

Wealthy member of the Sanhedrin from Arimathea who was a secret disciple of Jesus. “A good and righteous man” who had not consented to the council’s decision to crucify Jesus. Asked Pilate for Jesus’ body and provided his own new tomb for the burial. Worked with Nicodemus to prepare the body. Later legend says he brought the Holy Grail to Britain.
