Khadijah

First wife of Muhammad and first convert to Islam. A wealthy merchant who employed Muhammad and then proposed marriage. Older than him by about 15 years. Her support was crucial in the early years of Islam. She comforted Muhammad after his first revelation. Muhammad loved her deeply and took no other wives during her lifetime. One of the four greatest women in Islamic tradition.
