Mary Magdalene
Also known as: Miriam of Magdala
Mary Magdalene
Woman from Magdala from whom Jesus cast out seven demons. Became a devoted follower, present at the crucifixion and burial. First witness of the resurrection; Jesus appeared to her at the tomb and sent her to tell the disciples. Called “apostle to the apostles.” Often confused with other Marys and the sinful woman who anointed Jesus.
