Saleh

Arabian prophet mentioned in the Quran, sent by God to the people of Thamud in northwest Arabia. God provided a miraculous she-camel as a sign of Saleh’s prophethood, with the people warned not to harm her. When the wicked among them hamstrung and killed the camel, divine judgment fell: a devastating earthquake destroyed the people while Saleh and the believers were saved. His story exemplifies the consequences of rejecting prophetic guidance and defying divine signs. The ruins of Thamud, mentioned in the Quran as a warning to later generations, are traditionally associated with Mada’in Saleh (Hegra) in Saudi Arabia.
