Roman general who besieged and destroyed Jerusalem and the Second Temple in 70 CE. Later became emperor (79–81 CE). The Arch of Titus in Rome depicts soldiers carrying Temple treasures. The destruction he led fundamentally reshaped both Judaism and Christianity.
