Last king of Judah, placed on throne by Nebuchadnezzar. Despite Jeremiah’s warnings, he rebelled against Babylon. Jerusalem was besieged and fell in 586 BCE. He watched his sons executed, then was blinded and taken to Babylon in chains. The Davidic monarchy effectively ended.
