Nation/Kingdom exile

Babylonians

Homeland: Babylon (southern Mesopotamia)

The Neo-Babylonian Empire under Nebuchadnezzar II conquered Judah and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 586 BCE. The Judean elite were exiled to Babylon.

The Babylonian Exile was a transformative period for Jewish identity and religion. Prophets like Ezekiel ministered to the exiles, and figures like Daniel served in the Babylonian court.
