Ishmaelites

The Ishmaelites descended from Ishmael, son of Abraham and Hagar. They became a great nation inhabiting the desert regions of Arabia.

In Islamic tradition, Ishmael (Ismail) is considered a prophet and the ancestor of the Arabs and of Muhammad. Abraham and Ishmael together built (or rebuilt) the Kaaba in Mecca.
