Tribe of Joseph

Joseph received a double portion through his two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who each became separate tribes. Together they formed the powerful “House of Joseph” in central Canaan.

Joseph’s tribes dominated the Northern Kingdom after the split, with Ephraim often used as a synonym for the entire northern realm. Joshua, who led the conquest of Canaan, was from the tribe of Ephraim.
