Amram
Amram
Father of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. A Levite who married his father’s sister Jochebed. His children became the leaders of the Exodus.
Amram belonged to the tribe of Levi through his father Kohath. Living during the period of Israel’s enslavement in Egypt, he raised three children who would become central figures in Israel’s deliverance: Moses the lawgiver, Aaron the first high priest, and Miriam the prophetess. Scripture records that he lived to be 137 years old.
