The Muhajirun (“Emigrants”) were the early Muslims who emigrated from Mecca to Medina with or following the Prophet Muhammad.

Their emigration (Hijra) in 622 CE marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar. They left behind homes, families, and livelihoods for their faith, earning special honor in Islamic tradition.
