Nahor

Brother of Abraham and Haran, son of Terah. Unlike Abraham, Nahor remained in Mesopotamia rather than journeying to Canaan. He married Milcah, his niece (daughter of Haran), maintaining the family line within Terah’s descendants. Through his son Bethuel, Nahor became grandfather of Rebekah, who would marry Isaac, and Laban, father of Rachel and Leah. The “city of Nahor” (Genesis 24:10) was where Abraham’s servant found Rebekah.
